Last night, I had the pleasure of finally checking out relative newbie Gather with Elizabeth.
The view of the ICA was lovely, the staff was delightful (thanks, Chris!), the chicken and waffles was excellent, and the lights…those lights!
While we’re on the topic of interesting interiors, take a peek at this physics-defying furniture from RockPaperRobot:
The tagline for the Float collection—grace under pressure—resonates as well; I’m a fan. From RPR:
“The Float Table is a matrix of “magnetized” wooden cubes that levitate with respect to one another. The repelling cubes are held in equilibrium by a system of tensile steel cables.”
How cool is that? See more from RockPaperRobot at their site.

it was FUN last night! I’d love to go back to Gather when the weather’s nicer (aka: summer) and check out the view then.
and that table? so cool!
