Today has been a whirlwind of exciting national news (I have some thoughts on that), so much so that my afternoon yesterday spent soaking up ideas with TEDxBoston was pushed to the back of my mind.
But oh, what fun I had.
Inspiration is everywhere at these events; the variety of topics and fields covered is immense, but almost everything can be related back to your current focus. The 3Doodler was fun to see in action, the Happier app is worth a look and the Fresh Truck was intriguing.
That said, the show-stealer for me was Xiao Xiao’s demonstration of her work on MirrorFugue.
I’ve attended a few TEDx events, and I have to confess that I prefer the “overflow” spaces outside the live auditorium. I like the flexibility, and the space, and the chance to take photos or look up details on my phone. Yesterday, though, I couldn’t tear my eyes away from the graphic facilitators from Collective Next working next to me in the Living Room space.
These folks were amazing – I’m so glad I stayed outside the auditorium and got to watch them in action. You can find more of their work at the Collective Next site.
Check out the full lineup, with videos of the talks coming soon, at TEDxBoston.
What’s your most unlikely source of inspiration?
