One of Jack and my favorite events every year is the annual Halloween Bike Ride around Boston, organized by Truth Serum. Last year, Jack missed out due to a row with H1N1, so this year we were undaunted by the chill and determined to join the fun.
Celebrating its 10th year, with over 200 riders, the group set off from the Green Street T station in Jamaica Plain with two speaker-bikes, no less than four tandems and plenty of good cheer, charting a course through the streets of JP, Brookline, Allston, Brighton, Cambridge, Somerville and downtown Boston.
We had a grand time, cold toes and all. Additional photos below, including Captain Jack – and be sure to check out a wonderful video Cornelia Hoskin posted on the event’s Facebook page, for the full, glorious effect of 200+ bikes in costume.
Next year could he go as one of my favorite captains, Captain Morgan??
