The link came from Jack in gchat: “whoa.”
Ramy Fischler’s blending of modern and old-world in this Parisian apartment is incredible, but the detail that really spoke to us was the ombré paint job on the classical woodwork.
The effect is breathtaking, no?
You can see much more of this apartment at Yatzer, and I highly recommend that you do! More of Ramy Fischler’s work in interiors and beyond can be found online as well.

Breathtaking indeed! Love it!
Why would you paint beautiful wood grain like that? Look at the color and feathering in the close-up of the door. Why cover it? Is that my generation speaking?
True, but traditionally woodwork like that would all have been painted – so exposing it at all is out of the ordinary. (And we’re softies for pairing natural wood with minimalism, after all.)
